Rating: 1-5 (5 is a starred review)  4

What did you like about the book? This classic Disney version of Beauty and the Beast is a read-along story accompanied by a CD. The illustrations and narration follow the movie, so any child who is familiar with the Disney movie will follow this story with little trouble. It is an abridged version of the story so it will keep young children engaged. The book is read with different character voices and sound effects, making it a richer experience. The reader is cued with a bell when it is time to turn the page.

Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about the book.

To whom would you recommend this book?  This is a good book for beginning readers, as they can follow along with the words as it is read. It is also entertaining with the different voices so children will want to read it over and over. It is recommended for ages 3 and up.

Who should buy this book? Because it is a paperback, it might not hold up to multiple uses in a library. It would be a good addition to an elementary school library, though.

Where would you shelve it ? picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  yes
