What did you like about the book?  In this counting book, one sad tiger ends up finding ten friends.  Each double page spread features the numeral and the number word in all capitals along with a description of the tiger: “ONE sad tiger sitting alone.  One thoughtful tiger and TWO bright bugs. One watchful tiger and THREE colorful birds.”  The colorfully muted backgrounds allow the black and orange tiger and other animals to stand out.  This is a lovely combination of illustration, text and concept.

Anything you didn’t like about it? No

To whom would you recommend this book?  This is perfect for children learning to count.

Who should buy this book?  Public libraries and elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it?  Board Books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this at the top of our “to read” piles? No
