What did you like about the book?  In this soothing bedtime story repetitive words will lull little ones into sleepy time.  “Daddy cow sang a good night tune/ to his baby calf beneath the crescent moon,/‘Moo, moo, moo, moo…/Sweet dreams my darling baby.’” The parental figure alternates between fathers and mothers and includes sheep, horses, pigs, ducks and a human family.  The illustrations in soft evening tones are full of detail. The final illustration shows the sleeping human baby under a mobile that features all the animals in the story.  “Let’s all sing a good-night tune./Let’s sing beneath/ the wondrous moon,/‘Moo, baa, neigh, oink, quack, la-la…/Good night, our/ darling babies.”’  This is a sweet and soothing bedtime read aloud.
