Melody and Myth (Keepers of the Vault, book 2) – Marty Chan, Clockwise Press, (9781988347004), 2016

Format: Paperback

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 4

Genre: Fantasy

What did you like about the book? This is the continuing story of Dylan and Kristina who are trying to track down artifacts with magical powers, Dragons’ Teeth that can summon an army, the mythical Golden Fleece and an enchanted music box. They must find these items before they get into the wrong hands! The action is strong and taut and the characters well drawn.

Anything you did not like about this book? Nothing.

To whom would you recommend this book? For those who read the first book, Fire and Glass, this is a must read. Also recommended for reluctant readers, those reading below grade level and ESL students.

Who should buy this book? Public and middle school libraries

Where would you shelve it? Young adult fiction

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Not quite.
