Pip Sits by Mary Morgan

Pip Sits by Mary Morgan, Holiday House,  9780823437788, 2017

Format:  Paperback Beginning Reader

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) : 4

What did you like about the book?  Simple text tells the story of a young porcupine, Pip.  A great early reader with sparse and simple text as Pip sets out to help Mother Duck by caring for her eggs and soon after, her chicks.

Anything you didn’t like about it? Text and plot of the story are very simple,  but this works well for emerging readers.

To whom would you recommend this book?  Early reader collections

Who should buy this book?  Public libraries

Where would you shelve it ? Picture books or early readers

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  Maybe, if you would like to add easy readers, it serves well as an emerging reader book
