What did you like about the book? In this Sophie Mouse adventure, she learns about the water cycle. When the Mouse family’s Sunday picnic is moved indoors because of rain, Sophie is very unhappy although her parents tell her that rain is very important. The next day at school she learns they will be studying water. “Ugh! thought Sophie. Hadn’t they had enough water this weekend?” She becomes excited when she finds that all of the students will be designing and making boats to see what will float and what will sink. Along the way, Sophie comes to realize the importance of water to their whole community. The plentiful illustrations bring the characters to life. This is a good introduction to the topic of water conservation.
