Nighty-Night by Leslie Patricelli

Nighty-Night by Leslie Patricelli, Candlewick Press, 9780763679323, 2017

Format: Board book

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or starred review)  4

Genre:  Picture book

What did you like about the book? This is another fun board book for a toddler. The bright illustrations that are outlined in black show a little child going through the rituals of getting ready for bed. It is a familiar ritual for many children, (except for dancing naked) and young children will be able to identify with the activities. It is written in rhyme and the author plays with words to make them rhyme.

Anything you didn’t like about it? Until the little boy started dancing naked, I thought this was a starred review. Other than that part, I loved the book.

To whom would you recommend this book?  This is a great book for a 1 ½ -3 year old child.

Who should buy this book? Parents of very young children will love this book.

Where would you shelve it ? Children’s Books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  Yes

Reviewer’s Name, Library (or school), City and State: Sandra Pacheco, ESL teacher, Washington, D.C.
