Format: Board book

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or starred review)  5

Genre:  Picture book

What did you like about the book? A perfect book for a 1 ½ year old child! Baby has a hair, and takes good care of it. When it gets dirty, he washes it. When it needs brushing, he brushes it. But one day, it grows too long and he has to go to the hairdressers to get it cut. The big question of “Will it hurt?’ troubles the boy. He sees another child crying and rethinks the whole thing of getting his hair cut. Eventually, it gets cut, it doesn’t hurt, and it’s perfect once again. This little  brightly colored board book has bold illustrations that focus on the hair.

Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about the book except that when I read the book to a toddler, he kept getting upset that the child’s face had two rosy cheeks. He kept thinking the child’s face was dirty.

To whom would you recommend this book?  This is a great book for a 1 ½ -3 year old child.

Who should buy this book? Parents of very young children will love this book.

Where would you shelve it ? Children’s Books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  Yes
