What did you like about the book? Diane Cronin combines a high interest level 2 vocabulary and simple chapters to create a very whimsical story of a smart duck that tricks Farmer Brown’s brother Bob, while he is away on vacation. The simple story empowers the duck to improve the living arrangements on the farm, and demonstrates that reading and writing gives you a great advantage, that should be used wisely.
Anything you didn’t like about it? It was a good giggle, but not a great laugh.
To whom would you recommend this book? Early readers that may need funny, interesting books on their reading level.
Who should buy this book? Elementary school librarians, parents who want to help and encourage beginning readers.
Where would you shelve it ? Beginning Readers
Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? No
