Tucker Digs Easter! by Leslie McGuirk, Candlewick Press, 9780763685362, 2017

Format: Board book

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or starred review)  4

Genre:  Holiday (Easter)Picture book

What did you like about the book? Tucker is a little white puppy that loves digging. When the Easter Bunny notices what a good digger Tucker is, he enlists Tuckers help in a stealthy operation. They meet late at night, Tucker dons his bunny ears, and they hide all the Easter eggs for the next morning’s egg hunt. Because Tucker is such a good digger, and a good hider, he hides them a little too well and no one can find the eggs the next day. Sure enough he comes to the rescue and everyone gets their Easter eggs. This is a child friendly book with cute illustrations. Young children will be able to follow the story and hopefully come up with the solution that Tucker figures out.

Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about the book

To whom would you recommend this book?  Children ages 2-4 will enjoy this book. It also focuses on the secular side of Easter so children of all religions will find it cute.

Who should buy this book? Childrens’ rooms of a library

Where would you shelve it ? Children’s Books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  Yes
