Format: hardcover

Rating: (1-5, 5 is an excellent or starred review) 5

Genre:  Fiction, Graphic novel

What did you like about the book? The cover of the book is filled with praise for the book and the word that jumps out is “weird.” And because of this, this is exactly the kind of book that kids will love. It is a quirky combination of about 8 stories written as a graphic novel that highlight the adventures of a pack of friends. They go on a yoga retreat and up in a hot air balloon. The illustrations are great and funny, as is the text. The vocabulary is on the easy side, so young readers will be able to read this book alone.

Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about the book.

To Whom Would You Recommend this book? Children who have just started reading well (probably second grade readers) will love this book.

Who should buy this book? Elementary school libraries should have this book. It is a great alternative to easy chapter books and the topics and the format of this book are current and inviting.

Where would you shelve it ? early readers

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  yes

Reviewer’s Name, Library (or school), City and State: Sandra Pacheco, ESL teacher, Washington, D.C.
