What did you like about the book? This is a true life story of a family of peregrine falcons who decide to settle on a condominium balcony in Chicago rather than on the top of a tree in the wild. The human family tries to evict them, however it turns out that the law is on the falcons’ side. The endangered species act protects the falcons. This is a well documented book of the life of a falcon, with wonder photographs and enlightening text. It follows the falcons from nesting to birth and beyond. It’s a fascinating book that ends with the birds being banded so they can be followed in the wild.
Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about the book.
To Whom Would You Recommend this book? Children ages 5-10 will love this book. Younger children will also love the pictures and parents will love reading the information about falcons.
Who should buy this book? Elementary school libraries, and public libraries.
Where would you shelve it ? Science
Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? yes
