Rating: (1-5, 5 is a starred review) 3
Genre: Picture book
What did you like about the book? This is a very attractive book, with a beautiful cover. It invites you to open the book and read. The text is large and child centered, as are the illustrations. There are many full-page illustrations that show the fantasies that fill the little storybook. A little rabbit has a storybook that he loves, and spends countless hours pouring over the pages and fantasizing. From fairies to lions in a jungle, the stories in the book are endless.
Anything you didn’t like about it? Initially I liked the way the rabbit showed all the possibilities of what you can find in a book, but then he started using the book to shade himself from the sun, or to wriggle under when he’s tired. I would have liked it more if the author had kept to the fantasies of the stories, rather than jumping back and forth from the actual book, to the stories.
