What did you like about the book? After reading lots of mommy/baby welcoming books, this was a nice change. When a mother notices her baby was small and trembling, she thought he might be a bunny. When the baby howls, she thinks he might be a wolf; when he whimpers, she thinks he might be a kitten. It goes on from there with lots of animals highlighted until finally the mother sees her baby smiling and knows that undoubtedly, the baby isn’t one of the animals, but is her child. The illustrations are warm and endearing and the story feels complete.
Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about the book.
To Whom Would You Recommend this book? This is recommended for children ages 1-3. It is a perfect beginning book for a toddler and would make a nice bedtime story.
Who should buy this book? Libraries with children’s rooms.
Where would you shelve it ? Picture books
Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? yes
