Format:  Hardcover

Rating: (1-5, 5 is a starred review) 4

Genre:  Picture book

What did you like about the book? This is an action packed story that catches the mood of a frazzled parent who has 3 very lively rhinos. Throughout the story, the mischievous rhinos misbehave, tussle with each other, and butt heads. The lighthearted story follows them through the day and finally when they are tucked quietly into bed, the final page shows the mother exhausted and asleep in her chair. There is a sweet moment at the end when the 3 little rhinos wink at each other and decide that their mother needs a big hug. The book is told in rhyme that flows nicely and the illustrations capture the energy that the rhinos have.

Anything you didn’t like about it?  I liked everything about this book.

To Whom Would You Recommend this book? Children ages, 3-6 will understand the humor and will be able to empathize with the exhausted mother.

Who should buy this book? This would be good for elementary school libraries and public libraries that have a children’s section.

Where would you shelve it ? Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  yes
