Format:  Hardcover

Rating: (1-5, 5 is a starred review) 4

Genre:  Picture book

What did you like about the book? The whimsical illustrations set the stage for this charming story of a child and a cat (Mr. Moon). Mr. Moon is asleep most of the day, naps during all the fun activities of the day. Not until bedtime, does Mr. Moon wake and take the child on a fantasy filled adventure. Eventually, it is the child who is all tired out.

Anything you didn’t like about it?  I liked everything about this book.

To Whom Would You Recommend this book? Children ages 4-6 will understand the fantasy and will understand the humor. People who love cats will also love this book.

Who should buy this book? This would be good for elementary school libraries and any public library that has a children’s room. This would also be a good book for kindergarten teachers to read aloud. It will help children start talking about fantasy and reality.

Where would you shelve it ? Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  yes
