Format: Board Book

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 5

What did you like about the book? Bilingual Spanish/English version of the book Sisters. Originally published in 1984 with black and white pen and ink illustrations, the book was republished in color in 2003. The soft-toned colored pen and ink illustrations reappear in this bilingual board book. “This is the story of two sisters … who in many ways were different.” Two sisters and their favorite games and activities are shown in homey snapshots: first in the ways they are different, and then in the activities that they both enjoy. Finally, the most special thing they share is the love of one other. An affectionate and sweet McPhail classic brought to new audiences.

To whom would you recommend this book?  This is a classic read aloud or story time book in either language.

Who should buy this book? Day cares and public libraries

Where would you shelve it ? Board books or Spanish collections

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes
