Genre: Fantasy

What did you like about the book? This book contains six stories starring a little grey cat with blue cheeks, Bruno. The stories were originally published in French. The first story, A Peculiar Day, finds Bruno being followed by a little orange fish that is flying in the air. Bruno wants to help the little fish and gets help from Ringo, the old pony. Together they take the fish to water and find they can swim with the fish! There are a number of different animals in the story, friends of Bruno. The illustrations are simple and charming and decidedly French.

Anything you didn’t like about it? No!

To whom would you recommend this book? This would make a nice read aloud one-on-one with the kindergarten – 2nd grade set.

Who should buy this book? Public and elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it? You could shelve it in graphic novels for the younger set or Picture books though it is smaller in size.

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes.
