Genre: Picture book
What did you like about the book? The simple message and title “Be Who You Are” is colorfully communicated in meaningful nuggets of wisdom on each page. The powerful affirmations will inspire children, especially those that feel like they don’t “fit in” to always feel valued. Todd Parr’s positive message feels good to readers of all ages! His distinct bold images and illustrations are unique.
Anything you didn’t like about it? A parent or teacher should elaborate and enlarge the simplistic message to young children and further reinforce the self-esteem concepts.
To whom would you recommend this book? Pre-school and elementary school librarians, child therapists who work with self-esteem.
Who should buy this book? Day care center, pre-school and elementary school librarians
Where would you shelve it ? Children Picture book, Book on Self Esteem
Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? No
