Format: Hardcover

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 3

What did you like about the book? This is a collection of letters submitted to the Tumblr “Dear My Blank,” moderated by the sixteen year old author. The idea was to collect anonymous letters that one would never actually send. So, there’s heartbreak, reflection, hope, joy, and sorrow. Some, the writer addresses to herself, some are written to specific family or friends, and some to no one in particular. Pages are printed on shades of calming yellow and teal, and coordinating drawings enhance the feel of the individual letters.

To whom would you recommend this book?  I imagine this would be a fun recreational read for kids 11-16.

Who should buy this book? Middle and high schools, and public libraries

Where would you shelve it ? 808.86

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? No

Reviewer’s Name, Library (or school), City and State: Stephanie Tournas, Robbins Library, Arlington, MA
