The Obsidian Chamber – Preston & Child

3820518 The Obsidian Chamber – Preston & Child, Hachette audio, (9781478938941), 2016.

Format: cd audiobook

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 5++

Genre: Mystery

What did you like about the book? There are three intertwined stories going on here and all three are ridiculously exciting with non-stop action. When Pendergast’s ward Constance is supposedly kidnapped by Pendergast’s brother (Pendergast is missing, presumed dead), Proctor finds himself on a wild goose chase to the far corners of the earth. Not too much can be said here without doing a spoiler alert, but storytelling does not come any better than this. Rene Auberjonios narrates the story with expertise.

Anything you didn’t like about it? One of those rare perfect ones.

To whom would you recommend this book? Give this to fans of Preston & Child but also to anyone who likes an incredibly good, exciting story.

Who should buy this book? All public libraries

Where would you shelve it? Shelve in your adult mystery fiction audiobooks

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Definitely!
