Format:  Board book

Rating: (1-5, 5 is a starred review) 4

Genre:  Picture book

What did you like about the book? For a book with the title “Colors” this is exactly what it is. The book screams color. The front of the board book is full of fish of different colors. The small board book dedicates between 2 and 4 pages to each color and presents objects of that color with the words written next to them. Some of the objects are recognizable, some are not (such as a part of the policeman’s coat for blue). It’s interesting enough to keep toddlers engaged, but not overwhelming. If you’re going to buy one book of colors for your child, this might be in the top 10.

Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about the book.

To Whom Would You Recommend this book? This is for very young toddlers.

Who should buy this book? all libraries

Where would you shelve it ? Children’s Books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes

Reviewer’s Name, Library (or school), City and State: Sandra Pacheco, ESL teacher, Washington, D.C.
