Rating: (1-5 5 is a starred review) 4
Genre: Picture book
What did you like about the book? Once there was Natalie and then there was Alphonse. A classic story of older sibling, younger sibling, this book sets itself apart with the colorful illustrations and the keen insight of this relationship. Everything is wonderful until it isn’t and at that point, things get worse as Alphonse tries to fix his mistakes. It shows the true caring siblings have for each other, even when things get messy. I also liked how the font changed when the mood changed.
Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about the book.
To Whom Would You Recommend this book? Children ages 3-6 will enjoy this. Older siblings will also like reading about someone else who is probably dealing with the same issues as they are.
Who should buy this book? all libraries
Where would you shelve it ? Children’s Books
Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? yes
