What did you like about the book? This book was first published in 1909! It is a rather stunning introduction to different kinds of mushrooms that includes the kind of folks who represent these mushrooms and what they do during the day. The illustrations are wonderfully done and the book is nothing short of fascinating.

Anything you didn’t like about it? Not a thing.

To whom would you recommend this book? Children and adults who like mushroom will be attracted to this book, along with those who like folklore. A guide to the twelve illustrated mushroom is at the end.

Who should buy this book? Public libraries and lower elementary school libraries.

Where would you shelve it? Probably picture books.

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Intriguing but not necessary.
