Format: Hardcover

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 4

Genre:  picture book

What did you like about the book?  While I was reading this book, all I could hear was Nathan Lane’s voice as Mabel.  Hilarious!  Mabel starts to be a really “bad” dog-  but it turns out she just needs glasses.  This book is so funny to read (especially in Nathan Lane’s voice!) and the pictures are just so funny to look at along with the story.

Anything you didn’t like about it? nothing

To whom would you recommend this book?  I would recommend this to kids who love funny stories that humanize dogs or other pets.  Some read-a-likes are “Naughty Mabel” by the same author, “If You Give…” books by Laura Numeroff and James Dean’s “Pete the Cat” books.

Who should buy this book? schools and public libraries

Where would you shelve it?  juvenile picture book

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? yes

Reviewer’s Name, Library (or school), City and State:  Laureen Cutrona, Townsend Public Library, Townsend, MA
