Genre: Picture book
What did you like about the book? It’s great to have a book about optimism in these times. Captain Mouse sets out in a little walnut-shell boat with a present for her brother. She faces all sorts of dangers at sea right down to getting washed up on an island with nothing but the mast from the boat, a flag and the present. When she is heard shouting “mayday, mayday” by a dragonfly and a frog, she is rescued and supplied with materials to continue her journey. It’s a book about perseverance, friendship and ingenuity. It’s also great that Captain Mouse is a girl!
Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about this book.
To Whom Would You Recommend this book? This book is recommended for children ages 3-8. It’s also a great book to be read in a kindergarten class for children to learn about problem solving and ingenuity.
