Format: Hardcover

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 3

Genre:  picture book

What did you like about the book?  This is a story about a newly built schools first day of school.  It’s the first day that kids are coming to school and school is a bit nervous.  School ends up having a wonderful first day and can’t wait for more days to come.

The pictures are really cute and describe school’s details very well.  It reminded me of the school that we have here in Townsend, with the brick and big windows.

Anything you didn’t like about it? nothing

To whom would you recommend this book?  I recommend this to kids who are anticipating their first day of school.  It can be nerve-wracking and this book can help ease minds.  Some read-a-likes are “Wemberley Worried” by Kevin Henkes and “Chu’s First Day of School” by Neil Gaiman.

Who should buy this book? children’s libraries and elementary schools

Where would you shelve it?  juvenile picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? no
