Format: Hardcover

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 4

Genre:  picture book

What did you like about the book?  Gus has a garage filled with stuff.  He helps out his friends with their unique situations: Rico’s seat is too small, Gina’s too cold, Walter is too dry, Miss P is too hot, and Henry’s car is too slow.  Thanks to all the stuff Gus has collected, he is able to help all his friends with their problems.

The pictures are so bright and funny.  Gina is a giraffe whose neck is cold so she wears tons of scarves.  And Henry’s car is too slow so Gus attaches a tuba onto the car and it shoots out flames!  This is a really hilarious story with funny pictures!

Anything you didn’t like about it? nothing

To whom would you recommend this book?  I would recommend this book to kids who love silliness and those who love to create and use their imagination.  Some read-a-likes are “Who is Driving?” by Leo Timmers and also books by Chris Van Dusen.

Who should buy this book? children’s libraries and elementary schools

Where would you shelve it?  juvenile picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? no
