What did you like about the book? This is a beautiful book! Beatrix Potter first sent The Tale of Peter Rabbit to a friend in 1893. Seven years later, she expanded it into a little book. One by one, wonderful illustrators of children’s books present their unique interpretations of different scenes from the books of Beatrix Potter. Peter Reynolds shows us Mama Rabbit consoling Peter with a big hearty hug. The unique illustrations, like Mr. McGregor by Brendan Wenzel, are also accompanied by the artist’s own remembrances of first encountering Peter Rabbit and the books of Beatrix Potter. You have to see the book, read the book.
Anything you didn’t like about it? Absolutely nothing!
To whom would you recommend this book? This book may find more of an adult audience than children. Anyone who has read the Beatrix Potter tales will like this book but I liked it even more for the illustrations provided by so many of my favorite artists.
Who should buy this book? Public libraries and individuals.
Where would you shelve it? 741.6
Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? It is really fun and beautiful.
