Format: Hardcover

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 4

What did you like about the book?  Use your imagination as you read through this book.  The simple black and white drawings are so detailed, so fine, that you can imagine a world such as the one suggested by Hurst.  I could almost hear the voice of Mary Poppins singing in the background as I read this book.  It’s whimsical, light and beautiful.

Anything you didn’t like about it? nothing

To whom would you recommend this book?  This would be a good book to read to a child to inspire their imagination.  Pausing after each page to examine the drawings, to imagine yourself in the pages of this book would be so fun and interesting.

Who should buy this book? children’s libraries

Where would you shelve it?  juvenile picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? no
