Format: Board book

Rating: (1-5 5 is a starred review)  4

Genre:  Picture book

What did you like about the book? This book is a fun one that children will love hearing read/sung aloud. Each dinosaur does a different dance and the pictures and text are fun and lively. The dinosaurs are named and then each one does a different action, (stomp, tap, quake) The pictures are simple and the expressions on the dinosaurs are expressive. Parents reading the book can put actions to the words.

Anything you didn’t like about it? Although very young children won’t understand anything about dinosaurs, they’ll love the sound of the words.

To whom would you recommend this book: Anyone who loves the rhythmic sing-songy quality of Sandra Boynton’s Barnyard Dance will love this book.

Who should buy this book? Elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it ? Children’s Books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  yes

Reviewer’s Name, Library (or school), City and State: Sandra Pacheco, ESL teacher, Washington, D.C.
