What did you like about the book? This is a whimsical look at how books are made.  The author begins with an idea, he writes many drafts, sends it to an editor, revisions are made, an illustrator is found, the book is sent to a printer and so on.  In the end the book is not complete until a reader reads it.  The illustrations are fun and self-deprecating with lots of humor.  This is a great book to show readers the process of idea to finished book.

Anything you didn’t like about it?  No

To whom would you recommend this book? Readers interested in writing will find an informative and  fun look at the process.  Hand it to budding authors. A good book to use to teach a unit on publishing.

Who should buy this book? Public libraries and elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it?  Picture Books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this at the top of our “to read” piles?  No
