Genre: Picture Book
What did you like about the book? In this nearly wordless story a stray cat finds a loving home. The cat is shooed away from a grocery store, “Scat, cat” and ends up at a bus stop in the snow. The first bus driver shoos the cat away, but it sneaks onto the next bus. Cuddled up on a seat, the cat is found by an elderly Asian man who wraps the cat up and takes it home to a young girl, perhaps his granddaughter. The pastel and colored pencil illustrations perfectly convey the emotions of the cat and the humans it interacts with. The muted palette works well with the tone of the story.
