In this debut novel by Knight, the magical kingdom of Fels, which is under the glaciers of Iceland, is held captive by a rogue king, Helva Gullkin, intent on usurping the throne from the rightful heirs of Will Wolfkin, former king. The kingly heirs are human children, Ellie and Toby, brought to this world to fight a battle with Helva and his minions to regain the kingdom and restore order.

Ellie has come from the brink of death via malaria in war-ravaged Sudan, while Toby has spent his whole life in England paralyzed and unable to move except for his eyes. Neither has any family, and are shocked to arrive in Fels and find they are really brother and sister. Shape shifters, adventure, betrayal and excitement run through the pages as Ellie and Toby conquer their human fears in order to lead the way into battle to conquer evil.
